Wattershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, Residency

Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts is located in Newcastle, Maine.  Watershed offers a variety of residency opportunities that run year-round. These range from two weeks to up to three months.  Some of the residences offered include housing, meals and studio space.  For all residents there is a subsidized fee. The programs are artists-in-residence, summer juried residency, assistantship, pre- and post-sessions, Salad Days artist, Fall and Heath Tile residencies.   Some of these residencies have specific goals, such as the Salad Days artist, the resident makes 500 plates for a Watershed fundraiser in the three month period they are there.  The Fall residency is designed for the resident to be able to just focus on their work. The facilities include a wood kiln, soda kiln, electric kilns, and gas kilns. Residents  can dig their own earthenware clay for free near by.
