Val Cushing
Val Cushing recieved both his MFA and undergrad degree from the N.Y.S.C.C. at Alfred University, where he returned to teach for 41 years, retiring in 1997 as Professor Emeritus. He taught pottery and technical courses concerning clays, glazes, and related subjects. He is widely recognized for his work, as well as for his glaze formulations, which are used all over the world.
Today, he is a working potter in Alfred, NY.
